Édouard Dumas
CEO of the Dumas company
THE REST OF THE CHAMPIONS
From the beginning, in 1910, the Dumas company set up its garment workshop in Yonne. The Dumas family has always had this desire to perpetuate a French know-how acquired and transmitted over the generations to make live and grow this company and all its employees in Burgundy.
Dumas Paris is the French Haute Literie®, more than a century of research and development from its Burgundian workshops, labeled E.P.V (Living Heritage Company) to make pillows, duvets and mattress toppers whose only promise is to offer a comfort beyond measure by using the most precious materials at the service of its customers’ sleep.
Bathed from a very young age in the family business, Edouard always knew that one day he would take over the business.
An accomplished rugbyman, Edouard completed his graduate studies in Switzerland at the Federal Institute of Technology. He obtained his engineering degree and went to South Africa to make his first weapons. Then he went back to Europe for a few months working in an international company.
In 2011, his father invited him to join the family business, which he naturally accepted.
In 2012, at the age of 26, he became Chief Executive Officer and he rebuilt the purchasing policy while respecting the company’s past.
In 2018, Edouard became President of Dumas company. It undertakes a new positioning of the brand with three distinct ranges, while respecting the brand, the product and the customer. Always very sensitive to the respect of the environment and to the environmental approach of the economic world, the company establishes its carbon balance and works with the structure «Pure Project». 15 hectares of trees are planted in Minot, Côte-d’Or.
Concerned about the history of heritage, in 2021, he became President of the Association régionale des Entreprises du Patrimoine Vivant.
A leitmotif: the company must open up to the outside.

He undoubtedly masters art and orality, the head of the foundation that today bears his surname. Or even repartee, not devoid of a touch of humour, when he is asked to give his definition of contemporary art, answering a shifted question from the audience!
