CDOS 89
The Olympic Representation
The Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee (CDOS) of Yonne has 56 member committees to which are attached almost 1500 clubs. Its missions can be summed up in four words: “to coordinate”, “to defend”, “to work”, and “to serve” the practice of sport in accordance with the values transmitted by the Olympic ideal.
CDOS 89 is the representative of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) in Yonne.
Its first mission is to federate the departmental committees and to promote the practice of sport in the territory; whether it is competition, leisure or sports tourism.
It also helps and supports volunteers, on whom clubs rely and who often manage employees. To this end, CDOS 89 organizes training sessions (1) and also information evenings dedicated to the responsibility of volunteers, employment, support schemes, partnerships, sponsorship, etc. This is to meet the funding needs of the clubs.
Support for Yonne sports associations, labeled Centre de ressources et d’information des bénévoles (CRIB), CDOS 89 operates throughout the territory to support sports associations among other actions. CDOS 89 is also the chosen interlocutor of local authorities and public institutions.
It works hand in hand with the Department by managing the transport support system for teams qualified for French championship and with which he cooperates for Yonne 2024 project. Or with the State to promote aid schemes.
“My goal is to develop actions and give work to educators from other committees and clubs,” says Patrice Hennequin, President of CDOS 89. “ We are creating a training organization that I hope will be certified Qualiopi in September 2023. This label will allow us to intervene in the field of health sport (Maison Sport-Santé de l’Yonne) as well as tourist sport or other. We will be able to set up any training session for the employees of a company or members of an association.”
